The New iPod: Lighter, Thinner, no Firewire.
by David Sudjiman ~ October 13th, 2005. Filed under: News. Here comes the moment that we’ve been waiting for after after the announcement from Apple to come up with ‘more than just a video player’. My speculation was that Apple will come up with this iPod with video player capability with several additional features, and it was right.
The new iPod comes with the capability playing MPEG-4 and h.264 and you can also plug your iPod using universal dock, connect the AV cable, and play it using the remote control as it would be very irritating to watch the video using its 2.5 inch screen with 320×24-pixel and 260,000 colors.

It is less than half an inch thin (.43″) and gives the look of iPod nano but in bigger size.

The previous iPod 60 GB was sold for about 550 AUD. Now, the 30 GB and 60 GB is 450 AUD and 600 AUD, respectively. I just can’t believe this small little cute thing would cost you that much!
iPod comes with USB connection only and no more taking advantage of Firewire.
