Passed BCMSN 642-811.

Knowing that Cisco changed its CCNP curriculum and apparently, this change means that I have to chase up my CCNP finished in year 2006.

I passed my BSCI on 16th August 2006 then recently, yesterday, 28th October 2006, I passed my BCMSN 642-811 with 987/1000 score.

I was actually quite surprised to know that I would get that score, since I read the book having all of this QOS, HSRP/GLBP/VRRP stuffs, and CatOS which all of those are barely new for me.

I bought CCNP BCMSN Exam Certification Guide, 3rd Edition yet I didn’t read it much as I’ve already lost my faith on Exam Certification Guide series because of this book. It was a complete waste!.

I was using CCNP Self-Study: Building Cisco Multilayer Switched Networks (BCMSN), 3rd Edition most. This book has thorough explanation for each subject it’s explained. What I liked best is the way it presented the knowledge for you to understand. For each subject, It described the technology issues and how it works, continue with relevant syntax to configure it, example to use the syntax, and at the end of each chapter, it provided you with scenario example for all technology discussed. Also the Q&A part that came for every chapter.

The second book is CCNP Practical Studies: Switching (CCNP Self-Study). I only have one 2950 at home and can’t do much with STP and L3 switching lab. Therefore, I bought this book. Pretty good, full and heavily loaded with scenario.

The last two weeks before exam, I slept only 5 hours a day. Finished work around 4.30pm and came home around 06.00pm. Get several activities to be done and started reading around 08.00pm and usually finish 12.00am. Woke up on the next day around 5.30 to get back to work.

I was using either Saturday or Sunday for non-study-related activities like walking down to City, Manly beach, or just stayed at home and be the laziest person in the world.

Thanks you very much to my wife, Audie, that has to put up with me almost every night, going to bed alone and prepares me food when got back from work and also preparing my lunch every morning before she leaves to work every morning. I can’t do this without you. I owe you one!.

Thank for my CG friends @ Liberty Groove. Thank you for your support and being part of my journey.
