Another great year 2007 coming.
by David Sudjiman ~ January 6th, 2007. Filed under: Catharsis, Xclusive. This year 2007, I opened with great expectations wondering what’s gonna happen. Then I think, the best way to make this year 2007 great is to plan it great. Simple isn’t it? My year 2006 was great and I can’t wait to put another milestones in 2007 to make this year better than the year before.
I didn’t really make some plan for this year until I quitted my job. Yes, I quitted my job on Friday, 05 January 2007. Stupid move? Yes, It was. But I’m glad I did that. Now, I have a clearer view on how I want my year 2007 exactly.
- Get a Full driving license.
- I’ve been too busy to do this and because I don’t have car, I don’t think I need to get a Full driving license. What I have now is a Learner driving license. That was enough, until we decided to get a car this year.
- Get a car.
- My wife started to at 07.00am and as the winter is coming, it’s not going to be good to walk on dark morning from the train station to the work place. Another reason is that we haven’t explore Sydney that much. Having a car will basically help my wife to go to work and having more chances to go around. Looking for a good food is another reason too.
- Re-read my CCNP materials.
- I need to get better understanding about RIP, EIGRP, OSPF, VLAN, VTP, Switching, Frame Relay, ISDN, and basically all of stuff in CCNP.
- CCSP and CCIP.
- These are 8 exams in total. I hope those are not too much. Mainly I need to know about BGP, MPLS, QOS, VPN, and PIX. Let see how it goes and I hope Cisco don’t change the curriculum this year.
- Reading list.
-
- Troubleshooting Campus Networks: Practical Analysis of Cisco and LAN Protocols. ISBN-13: 978-0471210139
- Cisco IOS in a Nutshell. ISBN-13: 978-0596008697
- Network Troubleshooting Tools. ISBN-13: 978-0596001865
- Cisco IOS Cookbook, SE. ISBN-13: 978-0596527228
- Network Administrators Survival Guide. ISBN-13: 978-1587052118
Well, these are non-certification reading list. Not to mention that I have to dig Cisco Documentation and RFCs. It could change, though. Not really sure whether I have time to read all of these.
- Get a Unit?
- Not really sure about this, but hey, got nothing to loose to put on this list.
- Get a Job!
- Yes, I think I have to get a job to support my finance to buy several 3640s.
We bought a new calendar for year 2007, basically the same calendar that we had for 2006. The one with lots of spaces so we can put plans and writings on it. And she wrote this:
Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us. — Ephesians 3:20 (New King James Version) —
