Getting very busy this year.

I quit my previous job because the company outsources the work to Malaysia and there are not much work anymore because almost all of the works are transitioning to be going overseas. I finally believe what Thomas Friedman said. I still remember that I worked my ass off during that time but I believe everything has its own purpose.

I was jobless for 3 weeks, I can now understand that I won’t get any calls during Christmas and New Years holiday. All I got was the email saying that this and that person was on leave. Finally, after sometime in the mid of January, several interviews were on my list. Went here and there for interviews but finally I made up my mind to join this company after several considerations.

This new job comes with all of its consequences. I told them I don’t know about PIX, VPN, MPLS, Voip, and Checkpoint. But I also told them that I’m keen to study and will try to get my CCSP and CCIP this year. They said yes. It means I have to run like hell to learn about PIX, VPN, MPLS, Voip, and Checkpoint.

I thought that I would stay on my track for CCSP and CCIP, well, so far I still am. But, I think, after joining to a new company 2 weeks ago, I started to think that I should equip myself with something more than my first plan. On the next 5 months or maybe more, I will be targeting CCSA (and maybe CCSE), Cisco VPN, Cisco IP Telephony, Cisco QOS, and Cisco PIX. CCSA and CCIP will be my next targets, not really sure if I can get those by this year. A lot of things to learn, and I have do it as soon as possible.

I got my books today, well, most of them, as I need to buy my Checkpoint book from Amazon and will probably be arrived somewhere on March. I always love to buy books from Cisco Press. Faster shipping and considerably cheaper shipping fee than Amazon. I bought these books from Cisco on Friday last week, and surprise, I almost got the books on Monday. Yea, almost, I was not at home on Monday then I arranged the delivery to come on Friday as my wife off on Friday. Cheaper shipping? of course, Amazon will ask much more expensive shipping fee if you want it to arrive at your door on the next few days.

Anyway, I can’t thank enough for what I’ve got this time. I promise that I will do my best for anything trusted in my hand. Year 2007 will be much more fun!
