Getting a Driving License in Sydney.
by David Sudjiman ~ February 10th, 2007. Filed under: Catharsis.Taking a driving test in Sydney should be easy for those who have developed good driving habit. But it was absolutely not for me. You will be tested for many things like taking the appropriate lane before you turn right or left, joining the main lane from intersection, reverse parking, 3-point turn, and much more. I failed my first attempt because of one main thing, control. I have to drive with confidence and smooth.
After doing my 10 hours driving training, I still failed on my first attempt. I took my driving test at Bondi RTA, morning at 08.30am while the area still quiet. However, don’t buy that quiet road and think that you going to pass easily. The driving inspector will usually bit fuzzy when you can’t drive better because the road is empty. They will fail you easily because the road is quiet and you have to make it almost perfect.
Well, that’s OK. At least I knew that I still have to practice more and also realized that I still need more practice.
I passed my driving test for my second attempt. This time was much more confidence than the previous one. I took another 5 hours training before I went to it. Didn’t really happy with the result as I know that I did some wrong judgments. But it was OK anyway, the driving inspector was considering those failures as a minor one.
RTA granted me a gold license as I previously has been having my Indonesia driving license for more than 3 years. It is such a good policy, at least for me. Having a gold license means that you have a full license to drive your car.
I need to get a driving license to get a car. I need a car, as I work on North Ryde and it takes me 1.5 hours to get there by train and bus. In a day, I spent 3 hours, at least, to get to my workplace. Not a good idea, though.
