Ubuntu 7.04 Feisty Fawn; A Complete Achievement.

I have a chance to do a fresh install due to my HD crashed. Nothing much to say for the installation because it just works flawlessly.

Installed Ubuntu 7.04 Feisty Fawn and if you want to install more multimedia packages like codecs and stuffs, you can install Automatix2.

Obvious enhancement is Desktop Effects. This is still just in testing but looks good enough. If you want to install a better version of this, particularly for IBM Thinkpad T41 with ATI Technologies Inc Radeon Mobility M7 LW [Radeon Mobility 7500], you can try to install Beryl using this tutorial. Not perfectly configured, though, as I’m still having a problem running my GLMatrix screensaver with this driver. It’s flickering.

I’m quite happy with this, specially when Azureus works without any problem at all.

Kudos to Ubuntu Team!

    Hello — sorry for the off-topic, but I’m desperate…

I also have a T41, latest feisty, all vanilla (no custom drivers), all latest updates. On attempted resume (from suspend), I get a black screen. There is disk activity, etc., but nothing to do except a hard power-down/restart.

Any insights you might be able to shed would be HUGELY appreciated! I’m a quasi-newb, fairly able but still learning a lot.
